STABLES used by US troops as they prepared for the D-Day landings could be shipped across the Atlantic next month.

The 80-year-old steel structures once home of the famous Easy Company have been in storage at RAF Brize Norton since they were dismantled in the summer.

Furniture restorers, Sowerby and Son, based in Aldbourne where the stables once stood, carried out the work. Now Keith Sowerby, pictured, says that they will go to Georgia between December 6 and 10.
