ARKELL'S Brewery has snapped up a national photographic prize in a competition for brewers to picture their local mayors enjoying a pint.
The Swindon brewery came first out of 20 entries when it submitted a photograph, taken by the brewery's public relations officer Nicky Godding, of Swindon's mayor and deputy mayor at Arkell's Brewery.
Swindon's mayor Peter Stoddart, who is known to appreciate a good pint, and his deputy mayor, Ray Fisher, is a director of Arkell's brewery are in the picture.
"We're delighted to have won the competition," said James Arkell, managing director of the brewery.
"We're lucky in Swindon to have had a succession of mayors who are not only enormously supportive of the brewery, but really do enjoy a good glass of beer."
