AN elderly south Wiltshire couple were the target of tricksters who conned their way into the pensioners' home at the weekend.

An 88-year-old man was approached by a man and a woman while he was shopping at the Murco petrol station in Bulford about 12.30pm on Saturday, and asked if he would like some gardening work done.

The man told the pensioner he had met him before, and the pair then followed the elderly homeowner back to his house in Brigmerston, where they started looking round his garden.

The conman entered the couple's kitchen, uninvited, and began talking to the 85-year-old wife, saying her husband had agreed to gardening work. Shortly afterwards, both tricksters left in a white car, with no work having been done.

It is not thought anything was stolen.

The man is described as white and about 40 years old and the woman is also described as white.
