A charity dedicated to protecting wildlife is today launching a pioneering new hedgerow restoration scheme.
Under the plan the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust will cut down some trees to help promote the growth and restoration of the regions hedgerows.
The measures may sound extreme but the trust's Swindon wildlife officer Neil Pullen says: "We believe this is the best way to manage and restore the hedgerow for future generations."
The site earmarked for the scheme is Rushey Platt Canal Side Park which is currently being restored.
