A village near Swindon is to get a new lease of life in the New Year.
Members of Wroughton Parish Council have resolved to set up a parish plan in 2005.
The plan, with help from funding from the Countryside Agency, will enable them to set up a number of new facilities in the area.
The facilities that they hope to set up are a new community building, police station, cycle routes, designated safe walking routes, evening classes, a youth club, provision for ten to 17-year olds, a by pass, skateboard park and a larger doctors' surgery.
In the first few months of 2005 Wroughton Parish Council is hoping to set up working groups to create a clear outline of the proposed parish plan.
The parish council is also looking for community minded people who live in the Wroughton area to form a steering group, which would be involved in helping to put into place the various different elements of the parish plan.
Anybody who thinks they can help out should contact Sarah Bush, chairwoman of the Wroughton Parish Council on 01793 814 735.
