A community centre is looking for Good Samaritans to help out with organising fundraising events.
Volunteers at the Ellendune Community Centre in Wroughton raise money for a number of charities as well as raising cash to buy new facilities for the community centre hall.
A craft fair they organised on November 14 raised over £1,000 for charity and included 40 different craft stalls.
On December 20 the volunteers organised a charity dance show to raise money for the Ellendune Hall Trust and Children in Need. The event raised over £700, £400 of which was donated to the Children in Need appeal.
The next charity event on the calendar is a whist drive at the centre on January 10.
In 2005 the volunteers are hoping to build a storage extension at the centre, which will be used for much-needed storage space. For this they need to raise even more money and need more volunteers to help organise fundraising events.
Anyone who thinks they can help out by becoming a volunteer should contact Bob Collins, the centre's warden on 01793 813307.
