SWINDON Council tenants are being asked how they would like their tenancy agreements changed in 2005.

A focus group of tenants, officers and councillors are working together to see how the existing tenancy agreement can be changed.

It wants to know what tenants think and what improvements they would like to see made.

The group is also looking at what other councils and social housing landlords have in their tenancy agreements.

The group is being led by cabinet member for housing Coun David Renard.

He said: "It is important that we consult with as many tenants as possible so we get the right agreement for Swindon and our tenants.

"This agreement will be made in partnership and I hope it will result in our housing estates being a better place to live and work."

Anyone with something to say about the current tenancy agreement or to make a suggestion about how it should change should call Mark Walker, area estates manager on 01793 464605. Alternatively, email Mark on mwalker@swindon.gov.uk
