MORE than 70 people enjoyed the fresh air on New Year's Day walk in Wiltshire.
A total of 76 people turned up for the walk, organised by the local Ramblers' Association group.
The five-mile walk on New Year's Day morning from Bishopstone took 48 people up on to the Downs south of the village.
The return route used a short section of the Ridgeway and then the footpath down a sheltered coombe and a short roam on newly mapped access land.
The Sunday walk of nine miles from the Spine Road car park in the Cotswold Water Park was undertaken by 28 more seasoned walkers.
The group has a walk every weekend. On Saturday the group will be walking to Burderop Down and Smeathes Ridge.
A programme is available on the website at www.ramblers-wilts.org.uk or by phoning Pat Crabb on 01793 740450.
