Ref. 74424-17A GRATEFUL dog owner has been reunited with her four-year- old miniature pinscher thanks to an appeal in the Evening Advertiser.
Georgina Higgs, 59, of Toothill lost the dog, called Amber, while out for a walk in Lydiard Park on Tuesday, December 28.
But following an appeal in the Adver on New Year's Eve and on Tuesday, January 4, she was inundated with calls from keen eyed readers who had spotted the dog.
Mrs Higgs said: "I feel so elated. I'm so grateful to the people who read about it in the paper and kept an eye out for me.
"It's restored my faith in human nature."
The dog was found by Allen Haines who was out walking his own two dogs in a field near Lydiard Park.
He said: "It was my dogs who saw it. It was so small I think I would have missed it. Mrs Higgs was so happy to see it. It was wonderful." Following their reunion Mrs Higgs took Amber to the vet where she was given injections and treated for sore ligaments.
Mrs Higgs said: "I've got her home now and she's asleep in her bed.
"She's very tired. I think she'll sleep for a week."
