WITH the bank holidays falling on weekends, there has been little match action to speak of.
Those that were fished had to face rising rivers and very cold water which caused some hard fishing.
All local anglers are asked to attend a Charity Open in aid of the Asian Disaster Appeal at Westleaze Fishery on Sunday, Jan 16.
The water owner, Les Fearn, is donating the peg fee of £5 from each angler to the fund.
The competition will have a 30-peg limit on a first come first served basis, and anyone interested in booking should contact Les on 01793 619204.
Pools are £10 extra paying the top three places and there will be a section winner every 10 pegs for those not in the individual main list. The draw is 8am, fishing between 9.30am and 2.30pm.
The Wednesday Club match on the large lake at Ivy House saw Sid Webb edge to victory with 8lb 12oz, eight ounces ahead of Alan Scully. Third was Mick Smith (6-12-0) and fourth John Clarke (6-8-0).
