THE flight lieutenant of Lyneham air cadets has praised his youngsters for giving up their Christmas holidays to help victims.
Mike Hall of 2491 Lyneham Squadron Air Training Core, said: "It's nice to see in this day and age when members of the public are so quick to condemn young people that the good kids far outnumber the bad ones."
Twelve cadets aged 13 to 17 volunteered to give up their time and help load Asia-bound goods at Wroughton Airfield. Flt Lieut Hall said: "When I approached our members they had no hesitation in getting involved so all credit to them."
The boys of 2491 Lyneham squadron worked all day on Sunday and Monday to help the cause.
Flt Lieut Hall said: "I want to express my gratitude to them. They have made us very proud.
"They along with many, many other volunteers worked very hard. I was surprised and felt humbled by what the public in general have done to help."
