Mobile cameras should be used every week to stop speeding in Corston, according to parish councillor Simon Ryan.
Mr Ryan said despite a survey conducted last month by the Safety Camera Unit the operational arm of Wiltshire and Swindon Camera Safety Partnership a permanent solution was needed to stop motorists speeding through the village.
The survey found five drivers speeding at over 75mph in the 30mph area.
A further 17 per cent of motorists were found to be travelling over 35 mph.
Mr Ryan said: "We want people to drive through our community and respect our wishes to have this as a 30mph area. It is no different to me sitting outside someone's house and playing loud music."
