14993/02GAZETTE & HERALD: FAMILY and friends gathered at Calne Town Football Social Club to raise money for charity as part of a 24-hour darts marathon.
They started at midday on Tuesday, December 28 and continued throwing darts in a relay.
Members decided to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK and the National Children's Liver Disease Foundation.
The idea came after a discussion between the club's treasurer, Paul Bennett and Steve Pluckrose, grandfather of transplant tot Lauren Emery.
Lauren threw the first dart before the 12 members took over.
Mr Bennett said: "It went brilliantly and there's a possibility we could have raised £3,000.''
Lauren, five, was diagnosed with liver disease when she was five weeks old and had a liver transplant in April. In July she became ill and her parents feared her body could be rejecting her new liver.
But she is now making a good recovery after treatment at Birmingham Children's Hospital. The Make-A-Wish Foundation gave the family a trip to Florida.
