15025/2DEVIZES dad Paul Barker is demanding action from Sarsen Housing Association after his daughter and stepson had lucky escapes from injury due to apparent faults with light sockets in their home.
Mr Barker's stepson Daniel, 12, received an electric shock after he switched on the light switch in his sisters' bedroom on December 29.
Shortly before Christmas Mr Barker said his daughter, Kaceigh, four, was showered with glass after the bathroom light bulb blew out.
Mr Barker, 37, who works for Honda in Swindon and lives with his wife, Dawn, 31, a garage assistant, Daniel, Kaceigh and stepdaughter Lucy, 11, in a Sarsen owned three bedroom terraced house in Waiblingen Way, said the family had had problems with the lighting for more than four years. He said the light bulb in the hallway and landing frequently flickers when switched off, despite visits by Sarsen contractors.
Sarsen Housing Association spokesman Philip Mackie said an electrician visited the home last Thursday and replaced the lamp holder and flex in the girls' bedroom. The electrician said the lamp holder was broken, which Mr Barker denies. The electrician could not find a problem with the light switch, and said the light bulb in the hallway was faulty.
Mr Mackie said: "We responded as quickly as possible during the holiday period and found no significant problems at the property. Mr Barker took up Sarsen's offer of having Southern Electric check the lighting system, on Tuesday.''
