THE cold weather is no excuse for staying indoors now Swindon Council has organised a programme of winter nature events.
Wildlife rangers will be leadings walks and wildlife restoration projects across the town in January and February.
On Saturday, January 15 there will be an event at Coate Water nature reserve where volunteers will work on part of the park.
The work will go on from 9.30am to 2.30pm and lunch will be included.
Participants should meet event leader Bob Sherman at Coate Water Ranger Centre at 9.30am.
On Sunday, January 23 the rangers have organised a two-mile walk around the Seven Fields Nature Reserve from noon to 1.30pm.
People should meet event leader Karl Curtis at Kennet Avenue Car Park at noon.
On Sunday, February 13 there is a winter tree investigation session at Coate Water Park from 2pm to 3.30pm.
It is led by Mark Eborn, who will meet participants at the ranger centre at 2pm.
