THE Fatboy Slims of the future are being offered the chance to take part in free DJ workshops as part of a Swindon youth project.
The workshops are run at Youth Uncovered Studios at the Park Youth Centre and will be aimed at teaching young people how to become DJs.
Those taking part in the courses will get the chance to work with experienced DJs, get to know and set up the equipment, learn techniques on how to use record decks, make a demo tape and learn some more advanced skills.
As well as DJ workshops, the Park Youth Centre also runs music technology courses.
These enable participants to make music using computer software.
Elements of the course include learning how to operate the required equipment, understanding the function of different equipment, developing software programming and sequencing skills, understanding basic sequencing and mixing and making a CD.
Those taking part in both the DJ and music technology workshops will get a certificate of achievement for successful completion of the programme.
For more information about the workshops, contact Youth Uncovered on 01793 521615.
