THE way the climate of the Cotswolds has affected National Trust gardens will be the subject of a lecture next month.
The National Trust has many gardens and parks in its care, which give a taste of the enormous range of different styles and periods of gardens in the Cotswolds and West Country.
They range from early formal gardens, classic English Landscape gardens and elaborate Victorian schemes, through to innovative 20th century gardens.
The lecture by gardens and parks adviser Bill Malecki will look at how the climate of the region has affected the style of some of its gardens and the range of plants grown in them.
He will also explore the work that goes into conserving historic parks and gardens.
The lecture takes place on Wednesday, February 2 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at the University of Bath in Swindon Oakfield Campus in Marlowe Avenue.
Parking and admission are free.
