TWO thieves in Wootton Bassett were hoping to recharge their batteries after the Christmas season.
But they will be disappointed to discover that the battery charger they stole from a farm in Hook Street was damaged.
The theft happened on Tuesday between 11.10 and 11.20am.
Two men were spotted taking a red Clarke BC200 charger and a black Jojo extension lead, together valued at more than £100. When challenged they made off at speed towards Wootton Bassett in a gold E registration Ford Escort.
The suspects are described as male, white and approximately 20 years old.
