A sign language class for babies is being held in Wootton Bassett. Kim Baines, 38, of Brinkworth, has been teaching the language for about a year.
She said: "It allows babies to communicate before they can talk. They know what they want but they are not capable of making recognisable sounds.
"After learning to sign they can tell you when they want a drink, whether they're tired or hungry, and even what they want to eat.
"I signed with my son and he was very calm because he was able to communicate without frustration."
Tiny Talk takes place at St Bartholomew and All Saints' Church Hall on Tuesday between 10am and 11am and 11.15am and 12.15pm.
The price for a class is £4 a family, including tea, biscuits and toys. Call 01666 511116 or visit www.tinytalk.co.uk.
