NOBODY could fail to have been moved by the harrowing images that have been coming out of South East Asia since the dreadful tsunamis hit on Boxing Day. The scale of the devastation is almost beyond comprehension.
Particularly hard to accept is the number of dead it is equivalent to the entire population of west Wiltshire, plus Trowbridge again, being wiped out in one act of nature.
I would urge anyone who has yet to contribute towards the disaster appeal to make a donation just £50 can rehome an entire family, so every penny really can make a difference.
You can call 0870 60 60 900, donate online by visiting www.dec.org.uk or send a cheque payable to the DEC Tsunami Earthquake Appeal to PO Box 999, London, EC3A 3AA.
Please do support these devastated communities as they try to rebuild what's left of their lives. Thank you.
Cllr M Clegg (Conservative)
Chairman
West Wiltshire District Council
Trowbridge
