WAKE OF THE TSUNAMI: CHISELDON firm Halcrow, which was working in Indonesia at the time of the tsunami, has reported all its staff are safe and well.
The company, which specialises in the provision of planning, design and management services for infrastructure development worldwide, is now looking at how they can help.
Halcrow spokesman Garry Whitaker said: "We have a number of projects out there, one of which has suffered damage. It is a matter of assessing the damage and examining how we can best help in the medium and long-term.
"Every single Halcrow person has been accounted for and all are safe and well. We are very fortunate."
Halcrow has an office in Jakarta. One of their projects, carrying out irrigation work in Aceh was damaged.
The Halcrow employees were on leave at the time of the tsunami and many had returned to Britain. Three members of staff have since returned to Indonesia to inspect the damage.
