JANUARY 12 & 13 2005, BATH: Miracle Theatre's story of a local fisherman who enters a fantastical underwater world brimming with mermaids and sea monsters will introduce a whole new generation to the delights of Captain Nemo.
Our hero is a Cornish fisherman who, disgruntled with fishing quotas and the prospect of having to scupper his beloved trawler, the Naughty Lass, makes a last trip to sea in the face of a storm and is washed overboard.
On the seabed he meets Neptune, 'borrows' his exotic submarine and sets out to take revenge on those who have put him out of business. But he is surprised to find he is not alone on the Nautilus and three more shipwrecked crew members arrive who have quite different priorities
This adapted multimedia adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, loosely based on Jules Verne's novel, features a host of crazy sea creatures (including the famous giant squid) appearing in the submarine's viewfinder.
The company makes the most of inventions such as the 'hydrogen hyperdrive' to create Captain Nemo's magical vessel and fill it with a weird and wonderful assortment of characters to take us on an exciting and hilarious journey.
