SUPERMARINE manager Mark Collier has challenged his players to fight for their shirts' ahead of Brackley's visit in Division One West of the Southern League.
The manager rang the changes after the 4-0 defeat to Clevedon last Saturday, and the players he brought in responded by beating Thame 1-0 on Monday.
"We made three or four changes and the lads that came in did well. They have possession of the shirts now and it's up to them to keep it."
That means the likes of Tony Joyce, Matt Goodwin and Dave Toomey will have to wait on a return, although Toomey is struggling with a hamstring strain anyway. Likewise Dave Hunt, but other than that Marine have a full complement, with former Forest Green youngster Adie Adams also on board permanently.
FORMER Marine boss Ray Baverstock is forging a new career as a pool hustler. He won the annual Green Baize festive 8-ball competition, beating some of the region's best players including Leo 'The Hat' McMackin in the first round and Steve Kirwin in the final. Green Baize manager Tony Bedwell said: "It's about time Bavers found something he's actually good at."
