WILTSHIRE League sides are back in action this weekend after a break with all three league titles still wide open, writes RAY BURROUGHS.

New College have a good chance of lifting the Premier crown should they continue to display the form they showed in the first half of the season.

Manager Pete Horwat has set his side a target of 12 points from their first four games in January.

He said: "The boys have been training over the Christmas break, look sharp and they are anxious to get cracking again.

"Things look pretty good for our first game with Malmesbury, we've a full squad to choose from with Stuart Bellinger back from injury and Scott Lane back from suspension."

Purton Reserves visit Bradford. The Red House side are five points adrift at the bottom of the table but showed signs of a revival before the break.

AFC Stratton, who have slipped to mid-table, entertain Marlborough who are in the bottom half.

Stratton manager Tony Dyer said: "We need to get back on track. A couple of results have gone against us, so I have got to put the matter right and get the lads to dig deep.

"We have lost Martin Thompson who is probably going to Witney Town and Justin Lowe is taking a break but apart from that we have a decent squad to call upon."

Elsewhere, Cricklade visit Westbury United.

In Junior One, Wroughton entertain AFC Stratton Reserves in the second round of the Fountain Trophies Junior Cup with Swindon Asians at home to Stratton Rovers in the other tie.

Barron Heating take on AFC Abbey Rodbourne in the quarter-final of the Wilts Junior Cup and in other ties Castle Combe are at home to Blyskawica, County Ground AFC play Windmill and PFC Durnton entertain Broughton Gifford.
