A REUNION is being held for former pupils of a Cricklade school. Cricklade Bottom School, by the town bridge, closed 40 years ago, but in February old friendships can be renewed at the town's parish hall.
From 1923 until the school closed Cricklade boys and girls between the ages of seven and 15 were taught under the headship of Harold Townsend.
The evening is intended to raise awareness of the need for funds for the parish hall .
The hall is now used as a day care centre for Cricklade's pensioners and a venue for church groups and others to meet, including members of Cricklade Town Band.
The event will take place on February 2, at 7 pm.
As only 60 places at the parish hall can be allocated for insurance reasons, admission is by ticket.in advance from Marion Parsons on 01793 750542 or Ron Atkinson on 751224. Payment, at £3 each, is on entry to the parish hall on the night.
