Swindon residents have until February 18 to give their views on plans to build another 24,000 houses in the area.
The council is urging residents to tell them whether they think the area could cope with so many more homes in addition to the Northern development, Front Garden and Coate Water park redevelopment. The plans have come about because the South West Regional Assembly has identified Swindon as a sustainable area for future growth.
This is because the town is in a good location and has good transport links and a buoyant economy.
As a result Swindon and Wiltshire councils are looking into how many homes could be built in the town.
They will be considering issues such as where the houses could be built, employment and places for leisure and recreation.
There are a number of venues where residents can find out more about the plans and can take part in the consultation.
These are in Cricklade, Wootton Bassett, central Swindon, Coleview, Purton, Wroughton, Chiseldon and Haydon Wick.
