Reg Clarke of the twinning associationGERMANS will get a taste of Swindon when a 20-strong group from twin town Salzgitter arrive for a cultural tour in June.
Last night the Swindon-Salzgitter Twinning Association met to discuss the programme of activities.
Former Swindon mayor and group spokesman Reg Clarke urged the town to make the group as welcome as possible.
"This year we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the twinning agreement and it has been very successful," he said.
"Preparations for the visit have been going very well and we have now found hosts for each of them.
"They have expressed an interest in trips to Coventry and Oxford and we will accommodate those requests."
In May a group from Swindon spent a week soaking up the culture in Salzgitter.
Mr Clarke said: "We need young people in the community to join us to keep the group growing," he said.
"They should come along to one of our meetings and learn a bit more about what we do."
