THE Mental Capacity Bill is due to be debated in the Lords on Monday and I am writing to warn readers of the dangers this Bill involves, such as the withdrawal of treatment which includes food and fluid, thus causing death by dehydration and starvation.
Baroness Warnock who supports euthanasia unintentionally assisted those who oppose the Bill when on television (the lunchtime News, Channel 5, December 14) she admitted that death through dehydration and starvation could cause great suffering. Instead she suggested that we should end the life of the patient through a lethal injection.
I would suggest that we do all we can to ensure that the Bill is changed to stop any act or omission that would deliberately end the life of a patient.
