AS a former worker in the press shops at Rover from 1972-1988 (until I relocated to Canada) I can tell you that hearing protection was always freely available at all times during my time there.
The fact is most workers chose not to wear it, and for them to now claim deafness etc seems a bit extreme.
I was there during that period and wore hearing protection.
I moved over to Canada, worked in the same conditions, carried on wearing hearing protection and have my hearing checked annually.
And all is well.
As they say you reap what you sow!
