TWELVE is the magic number for Andy King although four 'figures' occupied the manager's thoughts as he arrived for work today.
The County Ground boss is desperately hoping that the quartet of Christian Roberts, Stefani Miglioranzi, Matt Hewlett and Steve Jenkins will be fit to play against Bournemouth reserves tomorrow before helping their colleagues to a maximum haul from the next four league games.
Despite slumping to a 2-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, King felt the signs were encouraging and he is now looking for a maximum return from matches with Blackpool, Brentford, Stockport and Oldham.
The chances of succeeding will increase if King has bodies back and that is why he'll be casting a particularly anxious eye over tomorrow's clash with the Cherries.
He said: "I'm hoping Jenkins, Roberts, Miglioranzi and Hewlett can all play in Tuesday's game with a view to being available for Blackpool on Saturday."
Sean O'Hanlon was being assessed today after coming off on Saturday, complaining of tightening in his problem hamstring.
As for the fresh points challenge, King is confident it can be achieved.
He said: "I made demands of the players three weeks ago and they answered the call fantastically, winning three out of four.
"They have a harder task now because they've got to get 12 out of 12.
"I believe this team is capable of winning four on the trot, to do that we have to defend better."
The manager looks set to continue with his 4-5-1 formation although admits that would probably be different if he had the personnel.
He said: " I don't know if I've got a 4-4-2. Sheffield Wednesday have wide men in Jon-Paul McGovern and Matthew Hamshaw. The only natural wide man I have is Lee Holmes. If I had wingers I'd probably play 4-4-2."
Tomorrow's home reserves clash with AFC Bournemouth kicks off at 2pm. Admission is free.
