GP Kandy KandiahWAKE OF THE TSUNAMI: GENEROUS Swindonians have raised more than £1,000 in the first week of an appeal for victims of the tsunami.
Cheques have been flying into the Adver office thick and fast, bringing the total to £1,125.
But Sparcells GP Kandy Kandiah, pictured left, still has a long way to go to hit his target of £100,000 to help rebuild the lives of victims in his home country of Sri Lanka.
Donations should be sent to the Tsunami Appeal, Evening Advertiser at 100 Victoria Road, Swindon SN1 3BE.
We will forward them to the Sri Lankan High Commission.

The relief operation has touched hearts across Swindon, and the rest of the globe.

Her group, Cowboys After Midnight, will be setting toes tapping at the GWR club in Shrivenham Road at 7.30pm on Friday. Entry is £7.
Meanwhile, a Wroughton businessman is still collecting clothes, blankets, and long-life food.
