MEL Gingell was distraught after watching his Wiltshire under 18 team crash out of the FA Counties Youth Cup to 'the worst side in the competition'.
Gingell watched his much-fancied squad lose 2-1 to Suffolk in Saturday's quarter final at Melksham's Conigre.
Missed chances and a double lapse from Devizes goalkeeper Ged Hare proved decisive.
Hare let a tame effort squirm through his grasp after 25 minutes to leave Wiltshire trailing.
The hosts quickly hit back when Yan Klukowski headed home Matty Bennett's corner.
Bassett starlet Bennett and Bath City hotshot Klukowski both missed one-on ones before the interval, as did Corsham's Scott Lye.
But an almost identical slip up from Hare midway through the second half condemned Wiltshire to a surprise defeat.
Gingell said: "It's the best crop of lads I've ever had so to have gone out to a side as poor as they (Suffolk) were is really disappointing.
"They are the worst team we've played in the whole competition that's what makes it so hard to take.
"We just didn't take our chances we should have been 4-1 up by half-time."
