VOLUNTEERS and sponsors of a shelter for the homeless are being thanked for sharing the festive spirit this Christmas.
Patsy Moloney, joint secretary of the Christmas Care Committee which organises the Christmas shelter, said: "This year we were again fortunate to be supported by excellent people who volunteered to help and who gave their time freely over the period.
"The Christmas Care Committee would like to thank everyone who helped with the 2004 project those who brought in food, clothing, bedding, toiletries etc and anyone who made a monetary donation."
He also thanked sponsors who provided food, turkeys, a minibus, skips, furniture and electrical goods and a television.
Particular thanks were also given to people who came to entertain guests, gave services such as chiropody and hairdressing, chefs Richard and Jamie, Upper Stratton Baptist Church Lunch Club for the use of their crockery and to the people of Gloucester House for their support.
A social evening will be held on January 19 at 7.30pm at Queens Drive Methodist Church to thank those who helped. Views on this year and suggestions for improvements will be welcomed.
Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to comment can write to Patsy Moloney, 18 Helston Road, Park North, Swindon SN3 2QR. Receipts for donations are available from the same address.
