Two tries, a conversion and a penalty were enough to give Chippenham their first league win of 2005 15-0 over Aylesbury.
A break from the halfway line saw David Spiers score their opening try and, in first-half injury time, Chippenham's decision to run a penalty paid off as Karl Parry-Curtis drove over.
Andy Williamson converted for a 12-0 lead and later added a penalty to maintain Chippenham's lead at the top of the South West Two East table.
Meanwhile, Chippenham 2nd narrowly lost their final warm-up game before this weekend's Dorset & Wilts Cup semi-final against Salisbury as Dings Crusaders ran out 16-15 winners courtesy of a last-minute penalty.
Trailing 3-0, Chippenham roared into the lead with two well-worked tries from fly-half Paul Clifford and No 8 Hamish Morton. Clifford converted his own try to give his side a nine-point lead.
Dings added another penalty to cut the gap before half-time, but Clifford's boos stretched the advantage to 15-6 in favour of the visitors.
However, a penalty try and conversion brought Dings back into it before the late penalty denied Chippenham.
Swindon 3rd shook off six weeks of inaction to defeat Warminster 27-14 in Dorset & Wilts Two North.
Nigel Baxter's converted try set the ball rolling and further scores from Crabtree, Illing, Logan and Aratti sealed an excellent win.
Cirencester's Gloucestershire One promotion hopes were given a severe dent as they suffered a shock 20-0 defeat to struggling Ashley Down Old Boys.
