The New Year kicked off with three previously unbeaten teams losing their unblemished records Stratton Juniors B at under 17, Wootton Bassett Town at under 10 and Shaw under nines.

Under 17

IT was "derby" day in the eldest age group within the league with the A and B sides from both Stratton Juniors and Wootton Bassett Town meeting each other.

In the top-of-the-table clash between the two Stratton sides it was Stratton Juniors A who became the first team in two seasons to defeat Stratton Juniors B.

A solitary goal from Jamie Black was all that separated the two teams.

In the Wootton Bassett derby it was the older A side who triumphed with a 4-2 victory. With the game evenly balanced at 2-2, two goals in the closing 20 minutes from Tom James secured the win for the A side.

That took his tally to four for the A side who also could afford the luxury of goalkeeper Scott Smedley blasting a penalty over the bar.

With Stratton Juniors B slipping up, Shaw took advantage to close the gap to six points with a comfortable 6-1 win against Brunel Boys, who led 1-0 at half-time with a goal from Harry Bridgman.

Shaw came out in the second period with the wind behind them and knocked in six goals without reply through Kristian Howell (2), Scott Campbell (2) and one a piece from Adam Legg and Rory Meecham.

Liden Community had a comfortable 5-0 win at Ferndale Rodbourne to maintain third spot, while at the other end of the table a solitary Ben McFarlane goal was all that separated Blunsdon Colts and Fairford.

Under 15 Division 1

There were no surprises as leaders Westbrook were comfortable winners at bottom club Fairford.

The top striker in the division, Matt Hobbs, helped himself to four goals, with Matthew Godsell, Alex Kinloch, Grant Davies, Liam Fitzgerald and Dan Dodson also scoring.

Wroughton A went second after a 5-1 win against Wootton Bassett Town, whose scorer was Tom Marchment .

For Wroughton, Adam Burson finished the game with four, Carl Leppard getting the fifth.

Ferndale Rodbourne moved up into third spot with a 4-0 win over Malmesbury, Josh Henshall netting twice and James Chandler and Tom Elliott adding one apiece.

Under 15 Division 2

With leaders Eldene Colts' game falling victim to the weather, Walcot Wanderers took advantage to close the gap to two points with a 9-0 win at Cricklade Youth.

Zig Wardale was another player to score four times, Nick Mitchell and Jack Lumsdon both scored twice and Dan Wilkinson added a ninth.

Yet another four-goal tally, this time from Levi Cox helped Blunsdon Colts to a 5-1 win at Juventus Juniors, Tom Lees getting the other Blunsdon goal, David Barnes scoring for Juventus.

Improving Liden started the New Year well against Wroughton, but eventually lost 2-1, Hill and Paul Wiltshire scoring for Wroughton.

Under 14

Leaders Eastville Boys marched on at the top after a comfortable 8-0 win at Wootton Bassett Town.

Max Etheridge was star of the show with five goals, Saxon Sheppard, Luke Uzzell and Jamie Prictor scoring the other goals.

Second-placed Westlea Wanderers also had an easy win, hitting 15 against bottom club Penhill Allstars, Stuart Hillis (5), Adam Miller (3), Sam English (3), Danny Singh, Lewis Maynard, Callum Jones and an own goal scored for Westlea. Chris Tewkesbury got the Penhill consolation goal.

Highworth Juniors B stay third after a 2-0 away win at AFC Barbury. The game was goalless at the break but a Danny King header from a corner and Tom Maynard volley into the roof of the net did the damage for Highworth Juniors.

Brunel Boys stay third thanks to two goals from Dane Tregoning, 2-1 the score at home against Highworth Juniors A.

Shaw were 3-0 winners at Croft Juniors. They went ahead through Daryl Charman, who later added a second. Laurence Royal scored the third near the end.

The game between Shrivenham & Watchfield and Fairford saw Fairford go ahead with a goal from Duncan Scrivens.

Shrivenham & Watchfield equalised early in the second half with an own goal from the Fairford keeper.

Oli Baily had the simple task of scoring Shrivenham & Watchfield's second, and Elliott Coard hit a fine long-range shot into the roof of the net for the third.

Under 13 Division 1

Amesbury Sports maintained their 100 per cent record at the top of the league but only after a determined performance against an excellent Lydiard Youth side.

Lydiard took the lead through Jordan Waddle with a fine solo run and great finish.

Amesbury gradually gained possession and started to control the midfield with Harvey Coker and Steven Holvey outstanding.

The pressure finally showed with the equaliser coming from Sam Aldridge. Sports then added further goals from Callum Coker (2) and Aldridge grabbing his second.

Lydiard came out for the second half looking determined to take the game to Sports and again scored through Kieron O'Driscoll, then making the game 4-3 with Waddle adding his second.

But Sports scored four more goals through Tewi Te-Pou, Lloyd Barr and Callum Coker scoring twice to take his tally to four.

While Amesbury were marching on at the top, second placed Ferndale Rodbourne came unstuck at home, going down 3-0 against Malmesbury, Sam Parker (2) and Kieran Cochrane scoring.

Fairford had a 3-2 win at home against Shaw, Todd Hathaway, Danny Lloyd and Lawrie Miller their scorers.

Old Town United A were winners in the Old Town "derby", defeating the B side 2-1 to gain revenge for the reverse score earlier in the season.

Wootton Bassett Town gained their first point of the season at the 10th time of asking, drawing 2-2 at Wroughton. Bassett led through goals from Jordan Brooks and Josh Steer but an equaliser five minutes from time denied Bassett what would have been their first win. John Beeden scored both Wroughton goals.

Under 13 Division 2

Just three games were played. Purton began their game against Blunsdon Colts looking rusty after the break but welcomed back a number of players from last season.

Purton took the lead midway through the first half with a well-taken shot from the edge of the area by Adam Bedwell. Alex Green added a second towards the end of the half.

Purton started the second half much better and quickly scored through Bedwell. Adam Beasant replied for Blunsdon to make the score 3-1. Purton grew stronger as the half wore on and Bedwell soon completed his hat-trick.

Towards the end of the game, Shane Gough scored two goals and a well deserved goal for Dan Zammit made the final score 7-1.

Ferndale Rodbourne B were 3-1 winners at Ramsbury, Adam Warner scoring the consolation goal for Ramsbury.

Brunel Boys were involved in a seven-goal thriller with Shrivenham & Watchfield, eventually edging it by the odd goal. Conor Doble hit a hat-trick for Brunel, with Daniel Thatcher adding a fourth, Josh Brown (2) and Simon Jessett replying for Shrivenham.

Under 12 Division 1

Ferndale Rodbourne A remained top of the table after a 1-0 win at Croft Juniors, Steve Hill scoring.

Shaw remain on their shirt tails after an excellent 8-3 home win over Cricklade Youth A. The prolific Dominic Rekowski bagged another four goals, Jay Goddard hit two with Kane Lever and Jason Cass adding one apiece. Scott Craig, Tom Finnie and an own goal scored for Cricklade.

Stratton Juniors B were 3-0 winners at Highworth Juniors A, while stable mates Stratton Juniors A also won, defeating Ferndale Rodbourne B 4-2 to move above them at the bottom of the table. Jason Gunnett was star of the show with a hat-trick, Aaronjeet Kharaud adding a fourth for Stratton.

Under 12 Division 2

Leaders Liden Community maintained their 100 per cent record with a 3-1 home win over AFC Swindon, Sam Slater scoring twice and Ryan Mahon once for Liden, Maher Ali for AFC.

Shrivenham & Watchfield stay second after a comprehensive 11-0 win over Swindon Badgers courtesy of goals from Ollie Waite (2), Alex Celer (2), Ryan Dandy (2), Tino Fiore (2), Glenn Matthew, Will Snell and Craig Thompson.

There was a similar score at Lydiard where goals from Nathan Hudson (7), Sam Golding, James Steward, Dan Stretton and Antony Alcock did the damage against visitors Highworth Juniors B.

Old Town United went two better, banging in 13 without reply against Cricklade Youth B.

In the other match played it was all square at 1-1 between Fairford and Marlborough Town, John Watson scoring for Fairford.

Under 11 North Division

It was top-of-the-table clashes all round in this division. The match between Highworth Juniors and Croft Juniors saw leaders Highworth triumph 3-0, courtesy of goals from Ben Wellham, Danny Hale and Curtis Lever.

This defeat continued Croft's poor run of late and they slipped down to fourth spot after Ferndale Rodbourne won 3-1 away at Old Town United.

The win lifted Ferndale into joint second spot, Jack Parker scoring the consolation goal for Old Town.

Purton and FC Abbey Meads shared nine goals with FC Abbey Meads edging it by the odd goal.

Five goals from Nathan Lee plus a Rob Lincoln hat-trick gave Stratton Juniors an 8-0 win at Ramsbury.

Wroughton had a fine 6-1 home win over bottom of the table Blunsdon Colts with a brace each for Conor Reens, Jack Tyler and Josh Williams.

Under 11 West Division

Joint leaders Uffington United and Lydiard Youth both won. Goals from Jack Hegg, William Patterson and Andrew Lawrence gave Uffington a 3-0 home win over Greenmeadow, while Lydiard's goals in their 2-1 win over Hungerford Town both came from birthday boy Edward Acott.

A hat-trick from Dan Knight was not enough for Penhill Knights as they went down 3-5 at home against Fairford Youth A.

Two goals from Chris Sims plus one apiece for Dan Jones and Aiden Cressey saw Wootton Bassett Town home against AFC Lydiard for whom Josh Kaliroy and Liam Short scored.

Under 11 Central

Leaders Croft Juniors B completed a miserable day for the club at this age group when they went down 4-3 at lowly Penhill Allstars. Jason Moore was the hero for Penhill with a hat-trick, Aaron Jones getting the fourth for Penhill. George Bouverie-Brine (2) and Dean Daville scored for Croft.

Malmesbury are the new leaders after they defeated Ashton Keynes 3-1 thanks to goals from Barnaby Kenny, Robin Collier and Matthew Coote.

Fairford Youth B and Shaw shared eight goals and the points, while goals from Philip Rees and Shaun Pymer won the Highworth derby for Highworth Town.

Goals from Matt Osbourne, Patrick Higgs and Josh Lewis edged it for Marlborough Town Youth against Eldene Rangers, 3-2 the final score here.

Under 10 North Division

A Daniel Dicks rocket for Greenmeadow brought to an end Wootton Bassett Town's unbeaten run.

After a goalless first half Bassett forced a string of corners, but Greenmeadow broke and Carl Merchant was fouled just outside the area. Dicks scored from the resulting free kick .

Ferndale, however, failed to take full advantage of Bassett's slip-up, being held 2-2 at home by Swindon Soccer Skills A. Liam Gallagher scored both Ferndale goals.

Ashton Keynes remain third after a 3-1 home win over Westbrook A, Danny Roberts firing a hat-trick for them.

Highworth Town and Stratton Juniors shared four goals and the points, Jack Pedder scoring both Highworth goals.

Two goals from Nathan Littler kept Siddington in touch in fifth place.

Under 10 West

Leaders Old Town United were made to work hard by bottom club Cirencester Town, goals from Jimmy Parker and an own goal eventually seeing them home.

Second-placed Croft dominated early on against Marlborough Town Youth A and swept to a two-goal lead through Chris Jackson and Lakki Poulis.

Marlborough came back into the game at the end of the first half but they had to wait until their pressure paid off mid-way through the second half when Thomas Andrew knocked in their goal.

Robins stay third after a comprehensive 10-0 win over Stratton Youth.

Malmesbury went fourth after a 4-1 home win over Lydiard Youth A, Matthew Fusco (2), Antony Woolcock and Max Charman their scorers.

Under 10 Central

The top three all won. A hat-trick from Conor Waldon plus strikes from Luke Thomas and Will Brittin helped Greenmeadow to a 5-0 home win over Wanborough.

Lydiard Youth won by a similar score against Shrivenham & Watchfield, Oli Hooton (2), Lewis Watts, Aaron Watts and Daniel Thompson getting their goals.

It was a bit tighter for Uffington as they won by the odd goal in nine against Cricklade Youth A, Marcus Rutter, William Bazen, Freddy Elton, Sam Baring and Ben Richards scoring their goals.

Taylor Chambers hit a hat-trick for Fairford in their 4-4 draw with Swindon Soccer Skills B, Jim Gale got the other.

Under 10 South

Performance of the day came from Shaw against table-toppers Highworth Juniors.

Back in October they lost 12-1 but on Sunday they managed to share four goals and the points. Matty Johnson was the star for Shaw, getting both goals, Fraser New getting both Highworth goals.

Croft took the lead through Harry Hatfield in their game against Marlborough but the visitors equalised just before half-time through Byron Wigglesworth.

It was a similar score at Westbrook B where Jake Kitchin scored for Westbrook B against Coleshill Juniors.
