Re: Dan Watkins' letter about buses on January 8. If Mr Watkins thinks he's hard done by he should live in Purton with regard to buses on Sunday to and from the hospital.
We have no buses on a Sunday or Bank Holidays in Purton.
Take over Christmas period: The last bus to Purton was 7.10pm on Friday December 23. The next bus was Tuesday December 28 to Swindon.
If your loved ones were in hospital in Swindon and you didn't have access to a car, you had to take a taxi and, being a Bank Holiday, it was double fare.
So, Mr Watkins, think yourself lucky you don't live in Purton.
We have asked Thamesdown for Sunday buses but the same reply every time is "If Wiltshire County Council put up more money, maybe a bus could run.''
But Mr Owen counts Purton as an urban area of Swindon with regards bus fares and no returns before 9am.
But when asking about Sunday buses we are classed as country routes.
