The Ford Mondeo that was in collision with a double decker bus in the centre of Amesbury on Monday evening. 13/1/5FIREFIGHTERS had to cut off the roof of a car after it was involved in an accident with a double-decker bus in the centre of Amesbury on Monday evening.
The driver of the car, a 28-year-old man from Salisbury, was thought to have suffered neck and back injuries, but after being released from the car and taken to Salisbury District Hospital he was found not to have serious injuries and was discharged.
The bus driver was not injured and neither were any of the passengers on the bus.
The accident happened about 5.45pm at the mini roundabout in the centre of Amesbury.
Three fire appliances, two ambulances and two police cars attended the scene and the crash caused long tailbacks of rush hour traffic.
In a separate accident, on the minor road between Porton and Gomeldon about 5.30pm, a car driver escaped serious injury after the vehicle struck a garden wall and ended up embedded in a hedge just feet away from a steep drop.
The accident happened just a few yards the Porton side of Gomeldon school.
