Employers could soon be using new guidelines to deal with staff who drive too fast or use mobile phones at the wheel.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has published the policies to help employers tackle the problem.
Driving is the most dangerous work activity that most people undertake. About 20 people are killed and 250 are seriously injured every week in crashes involving someone who was driving or a passenger in a car for work purposes
The policies are available from the Road Safety Department at RoSPA, 353 Bristol Road, Birmingham B5 7ST, or they can be downloaded from RoSPA's website at: www.rospa.com/ roadsafety
