THE final public meeting about council tax takes place tonight. Swindon Council is considering £10m of cuts to try to keep the council tax rise down and wants to hear residents' views on the proposals.
Tonight's meeting is an extra date announced after a poor turnout at the first meeting last week.
Residents who cannot make it can fill in questionnaires available from council offices or on the council website www.swindon.gov.uk where full details of the budget proposals can also be found.
A final decision on the budget and council tax rise for 2004/5 will be taken by the full council on February 21, not February 10 as previously announced by the council.
The meeting takes place from 7.30 to 8.30pm at the Civic Offices, Euclid Street, Swindon.
