MAN of the match Sam Allison hailed his teammates' performance after they blew away league strugglers Hemel Hempstead on Saturday.
The striker thought his side produced a great all round performance and thoroughly deserved their high scoring victory.
He said: "In the first half we were a completely different calibre, it was a great team performance. Everything we did went right, we attacked well as a team and defended well as a unit
"The superb first half performance put us in the driving seat for the rest of the game, there was no coming back for them after that."
Allison, 24, said the team were disappointed with conceding two late goals when they relaxed late on.
"A few of the lads were not that excited after the important win and a bit frustrated by conceding the goals. We took our foot off the pedal, which is natural because we had a comfortable lead.
"The fact we were not celebrating after scoring five at home is an extremely good thing as it shows we have a big hunger at the club.
"We were not happy despite scoring that many and I think it shows what a great character the team has."
He said the side's first home win since September was vital and hopes Chippenham have silenced a few critics along the way.
"We needed to put the home hoodoo to rest, it is nice to win in front of the home fans again," he said.
The forward won his sixth man of the match award after scoring his seventh goal of the season.
"I thought I played okay and am delighted to win another man of the match award.
"But to give credit to the lads I would not have won it if they did not play well around me, they helped me to win it.
"I'm even more pleased about scoring, that is seven for the season. When Chippenham win, I get man of the match and score I go home a very happy man.
"At the beginning of the season my target was to get 20 goals, although I don't think I will reach that with only 16 games left I will be happy to get around 15."
Allison is now looking forward to the home game against Dunstable on Saturday. He believes a win against the side rooted to the bottom of the Southern Premier Division is important if his side wish to keep Chippenham's promotion charge going.
"We expect to get three points against Dunstable. If we are serious about getting promoted this season we have to win games against the bottom teams in the division."
