The final remnants of the festive season have been cleared away after residents of Wootton Bassett brought their Christmas trees to be shredded in the town's chipper.
A total of 57 trees were brought to the Boroughfields car park on Saturday and the chippings produced will be used on the town's flower beds.
Head groundsman Ralph White manned the chipper with two other groundstaff for four hours.
He said: "The Town Council is very big on recycling and these chippings are good stuff because they've come from coniferous trees.
"We'll store it for six months to let it break down a little bit and then we can take it out and use it on the flower beds."
It is the third year the shredder has been offered by the town council and it has proved increasingly popular.
"The first year we only had about 15 to 20 trees so it's good people are using it, although we can always do more next year," said Mr White.
Residents were asked to strip off all their decorations before handing over their trees to the shredder, although the groundstaff did have to keep alert for debris such as nails.
