BASSETT staged a stunning comeback from three goals down at Exeter to notch up their first league win of the season.
The team, struggling with positional changes and an unfamiliar surface, were 3-0 down early in the second half when coach Pete Sammon encouraged the team to throw caution to the wind and push forward.
Bassett pulled one back when a clearance from Sue Lee found Nicky Wills in space. Her strong run down the right took her free of the ISCA defenders and a good strike was helped into goal by Emma Collison.
The goal inspired the team, and ten minutes later they reduced the arrears when a sideline ball from Tracy Fielsend found Vicky Field, whose acute turn evaded her marker. Field ran unopposed to the top of the D from which her brilliant shot flew past the keeper high into the net.
ISCA's heads were down as Wootton Bassett's morale soared and within two minutes Nicola Gardner equalised after a hard cross from Wills.
ISCA strove for a lead, but were kept at bay by a strong Wootton Bassett defence. The visitors created further chances and were rewarded when Wills drove home the winning goal with an impressive reverse stick shot.
Wootton Bassett held on to their lead, thanks to two brilliant goal line clearances by Becky Williams.

BASSETT were outclassed by Oxford in their home friendly.
Oxford put their stamp on the game when they scored the first goal within five minutes. Their swift, accurate passes and excellent ball control ensured a 3-0 lead by half time.
Oxford scored a fourth early in the second half, but Wootton Bassett rallied to attack, and were rewarded with a goal from Vivienne Hayward after twenty minutes. Further efforts to break the Oxford defence were thwarted, and Sammy Jennings was especially unlucky not to score. Oxford's relentless pressure yielded three more goals.
