GAZETTE & HERALD: CASTLEFIELDS River and Park Association (CARP) has announced a host of projects for the coming year.
The association is aiming to add new gates at the Patford Street end of the park, construct a nature trail, build a garden at Marden House, develop a fitness trail from Station Road to Chaveywell Bridge and restore the town lock.
Chairman Denis Robinson said the group was delighted with the recent progress it has made and hopes it can continue this during their projects throughout 2005.
"We are looking to start at Marden House next autumn and we have received a Government grant from Living Spaces of £25,000 which we hope to use to construct the garden."
Mr Robinson said the fitness trial was an important addition to the park.
"The running club say they would like somewhere where they won't compete with the traffic on the A4," he said.
