DEVIZES Snooker Club which was due to close tomorrow is to stay open for up to four months.
The club's owner Brian Foster said the closure had been delayed while James Cubitt Homes amend plans to redevelop the Station Road site.
Kennet District Council has granted planning permission for the club to be demolished and for five town houses to be built.
Mr Foster said: "I have exchanged contracts with the developer but he is not quite ready to develop because of planning issues.
"He is looking at building flats rather than houses. While that is being discussed it means the club will not close this week. We will be reviewing the situation at the end of every month and the latest the club will permanently close will be May 31."
Mr Foster who has owned the club for eight years said since details of the closure were announced last October more people had been visiting the members only club.
A spokeswoman for Kennet District Council said James Cubitt Homes had been in touch with its planning department making enquiries about building flats on the Snooker Club site.
The spokeswoman said: "If it's a significant departure from town houses then it would require a planning application."
