BUDDING drummers and young wannabe musicians can check out the free workshops due to start on Saturday.
They can learn Indian Dhol drumming and be part of Swindon's first Dhol group. Organised by Swindon Council's Artscape and funded by Youth Music, the workshops will be run by professional Taj Seera who has played with Malkit Singh and Jools Holland.
The free workshops will be at the Sikh Temple Community Centre on Kembrey Street every Saturday afternoon and finish with a performance at the Swindon Mela festival on July 30. Jemima Milton, Cabinet Member for Arts and Culture said: "It is brilliant that we have established this initiative for the young people of Swindon."
There are two classes: 2-3pm for beginners and 3.15-4.15pm for intermediate and advanced. Some drums are available but bring your own.
