A quarter of 16-year-olds in Swindon don't go on to study further education in the town after leaving school.
The figures have been revealed by the Govern-ment's Learning and Skills Council, which describes the numbers as disappointing.
They have spent 18 months working on a project aimed at getting more Swindon school leavers to study in their home town instead of travelling outside it.
Now the LSC want to enlist the help of young people in the town to encourage school leavers to study in Swindon.
They want 14 to 19-year-olds to design an eye catching strap line or logo, which would encourage school leavers to take up learning opportunities in Swindon.
The closing date for entries is January 21 and there are some great prizes and a work experience opportunity.
Send your entry to Kerry Garrad, Marketing, Learning and Skills Council, Wiltshire and Swindon, The Bora Building, Chelmsford Road, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN5 7EZ.
