Sid Owen stars in Dick WhittingtonDECEMBER 16 2004 - JANUARY 23 2005, BATH: EastEnders favourite Sid Owen stars in Dick Whittington this year's Theatre Royal pantomime from Thursday 16th December to Sunday 23rd January.
Director and dame extraordinaire CHRIS HARRIS makes a very welcome return to Bath this Christmas to direct the spectacular family show and star as Sarah the Cook.
For many years SID OWEN has played one of soap's most popular characters, Ricky Butcher, the luckless mechanic with a heart of gold, in EastEnders. Now "Ricky" becomes Richard Whittington in the true story of the Gloucester-born lad who goes to London to seek his fortune.
Taking the role of Sarah the Cook, CHRIS HARRIS, one of the country's leading dames will be whipping up a feast of comedy, music and fun as the director of this traditional extravaganza. Chris is a huge favourite with Bath audiences, having starred in panto here for the past three consecutive years.
With its "rags to riches" tale of the young Richard Whittington who travels to London to seek his fortune accompanied by his cat, Dick Whittington remains one of the most popular pantomimes. Bath has an established reputation for traditional, family pantomime, and following last year's widely acclaimed show Jack and the Beanstalk, audiences can look forward to another exceptional seasonal treat for children and adults alike.
