THE Wiltshire Waste Partnership wants recycling to be the top of everybody's New Year's resolutions in 2005.

Toby Sturgis, Wiltshire County Council cabinet member for environmental planning and waste, said: "We all need to think more about the way we deal with our waste reducing, re-using and recycling it wherever we can.

"We would urge everyone to make 2005 the year when we all resolve to do just that."

Up to 80 per cent of households in Wiltshire are now receiving a kerbside collection service with hundreds of recycling points located across the county.

In 2004, the WWP saw an 11 per cent rise in the amount of waste recycled, putting it higher than the national average.

Terry Plenty, chairman of the WWP, said: "Last year saw a massive increase in the facilities for recycling.

"It is all about making recycling as easy and accessible as possible."
