PEOPLE in west Wiltshire who haven't paid their council tax could find themselves facing the bailiffs.
West Wiltshire District Council has launched a crackdown on non-payers and has brought in bailiffs Ross and Roberts Ltd.
The council estimates up to 300 cases will be referred to the bailiffs this week.
Finance and performance portfolio holder Cllr Roy While said: "The vast majority of people pay their council tax or non-domestic rates on time and we owe it to them to pursue those who don't pay.
"We will only refer a case to the bailiff when all in-house enforcement options have been exhausted, but we know from other councils that such action does work."
