BRADFORD on Avon Town Council's Riverside Working Group would very much like to support the initiative of Leo Wirtz, the new Ranger at Barton Farm Country Park, and I am writing to urge local residents to attend the open day he has arranged.

It is on Sunday January 23, commencing at 11am in the West Barn for tea. Members of the Countryside Team will be present and there will be an informal talk, followed by a gentle walk through the park.

Your views are sought on the management of Barton Farm Country Park and the ranger would also like to invite you to get involved in the running of the park.

Come and meet the ranger and other members of the county council's countryside section and take the opportunity to express your views.

The country park is a wonderful Bradford on Avon asset and you would gain much from becoming involved in its running. Perhaps you could spare some time to do some conservation work or help with a children's wildlife group. There are many possibilities.

Town councillors will be attending and we hope to see you there.

From earlier consultation there has been a clearly expressed wish for some community uses on this site.

We would like to invite initial expressions of interest in writing from town organisations or community groups by Friday February 18 2005. Any such expressions of interest should be sent to: The Town Clerk, Bradford on Avon Town Council, St Margaret's Hall, St Margaret's Street, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire BA15 1DE.
